Tadpole
3 - 4 yrs old
Water familiarity is the main aim in this level with little to no assistance from a parent. We introduce flotation devices to promote independent swimming, with particular focus on breath control, face/body submersion and paddling. The kids will also be introduced to a structured class setting.
Jelly Fish
4 - 6 yrs old
The main aim of this stage of development is to keep building on water confidence and teaches swimmers to breathe confidently while in the water. We also introduce a number of safety skills, such as being able to float, while also developing a swimmer’s kicking ability, leading to independent travel in water.
Sea Horse
5 - 7 yrs old
This level focuses on developing the swimmers kicking abilities, on both their front and their back. Safe entries, submersions, water safety knowledge and rotation skills will all be improved in this level. Swimmers should be proficient in both basic front crawl and backstroke by the end of this stage.
Mantas
6 - 8 yrs old
This stage sees swimmers perfect their leg kicks for all four strokes and further develop push and glides, while also being introduced to sculling. Swimmers will develop an understanding of buoyancy through a range of skills and should swim 12m to an expected standard in all 4 strokes.
Dolphin
6 - 8 yrs old
In this level, swimmers will develop their skills in treading water, learn the correct arm pulls for all four strokes and learn how to do handstands and somersaults. This means they will develop their technique and perform all strokes. The emphasis is on ensuring all work done in the previous stages is developed further.
Shark
7 - 10 yrs old
This Stage teaches swimmers how to prepare for exercise, while developing an efficient technique for all four strokes and further developing them as competitive swimmers.
